Monsoon Solo II
Programmable Misting System
Programmable Misting System
- Programmable misting unit for terrariums and greenhouses
- Easy to connect and install
- Strong 2,5 BAR / 36.25 PSI water pressure pump
- Flexible spray nozzle (up to 2) can be pointed in any direction
- Pressure resistant Polyether tubing & leak-proof connectors
- 1,5 liter (0.40 gallon) reservoir
- Easy to refill
The system can be programmed to mist multiple times per 24-hour cycle, with spray durations ranging from 2 seconds up to 2 minutes. The 1,5 liter (0.40 gallon) reservoir ensures continuous operation for several days without the need for refilling (ideal for vacations!), and the reservoir can be easily replenished without needing to uninstall the entire system.
The Exo Terra Monsoon SOLO II comes with 1 easy-to-install nozzle, but the system can be extended to accommodate up to 2 nozzles, making it ideal for up to 2 terrariums. (Please note that every additional nozzle will result in less performance from each nozzle installed.) The mist produced by these specially designed nozzles is extremely fine, creating a fog-like effect in the terrarium or greenhouse, and the extra long tubing makes it possible to conceal the unit in a storage area or under the terrarium in a cabinet.

FEATURES
The Exo Terra® Monsoon SOLO II is a programmable misting system suitable for all types of terrariums and greenhouses. It helps maintain optimal humidity by generating a fine mist at programmed intervals, the duration and frequency of which can be easily adjusted depending on the type of animal or plant housed. Frequent misting helps stimulate breeding behaviour, and is a necessity when housing live tropical plants such as Bromeliads, orchids, mosses, etc.

Create a natural misty and damp environment
To maintain proper a humidity level in a well ventilated terrarium, you will need to use a Fogger or Humidifier. Spraying or misting is perfect to provide water droplets as drinking water, but will only increase the relative humidity for a short while. Exo Terra’s ultrasonic Fogger is ideal to increase humidity levels and create a natural misty and damp environment. The device can operate in any water part (e.g. Exo Terra Water Dishes, Waterfalls, etc.) as shallow as 5 cm!
Since every reptile, amphibian or invertebrate species has its specific environmental needs, thoroughly research the specific humidity levels needed for your species and use the Fogger accordingly.
How to install
INSTALLATION IN EXO TERRA DART FROG & TREE FROG TERRARIUMS
Follow this installation procedure to install the Exo Terra® Monsoon system on any size of Exo Terra® Frog Terrarium. The system comes with 1 easy-to-install nozzle, which should be mounted on the desired side of the terrarium, in the especially provided built-in mounting points.
1. Click the button on the hinged top screen cover and open it completely (90° angle), then lift the top screen cover off the terrarium.
2. Remove the suction cup from the attachment piece on the Monsoon Nozzle (because the Frog Terrariums have 2 built-in mounting points for the Monsoon Nozzles).
3. Insert the attachment piece of the Nozzle into the built-in mounting point, on either the left or the right side of the terrarium, depending on your preference.
4. Lead the Monsoon tube towards the back of the terrarium, and click the tube into the 4 clips, provided for this purpose, on the underside of the top frame (3 on the side of the terrarium and one on the back, just next to the self-closing inlet).
5. Make sure the tube fits tightly in the clips, especially in the back clip (next to the self-closing inlet).
6. Lead the tube through the rubber of the self-closing inlet and through the tube port in the back of the top frame. Make sure there are no kinks in the tubing which would impede water flow to the nozzles.
7. Direct the nozzle position inside the terrarium so that the spray stream will avoid spraying on the terrarium’s front and side panels when in operation.
8. Place the hinged top screen cover back on the terrarium (90° angle) and close the top screen cover.
9. Click the button back in place to lock the hinged top screen cover.
10. Connect the tubing to the top of the unit by pressing the tubing firmly into the connector on top of the control unit. (fig.F)
11. Make sure that the filter is properly connected to the spigot on the underside of the control unit and placed inside the reservoir.
12. Ensure that the top of the Monsoon unit fits tightly on top of the reservoir.
13. Make sure the unit is in its final operating location, on a solid, level surface.
14. Open the water reservoir filler cap on top of the unit, and fill the reservoir with de-mineralized/distilled water up to a maximum of 2,5 cm (1”) from the top rim of the transparent reservoir. (Using regular tap water will cause clogging of the nozzles by mineral deposits!) (fig. G)
15. Close the filler cap and connect the power supply jack to the back of the unit.
16. Plug the power adaptor into the wall socket, your Exo Terra® Monsoon Programmable Misting system is now ready to use. In order to remove the tubing from the unit, press and hold the blue ring down, while pulling out the tubing.
Please note that nozzles can be mounted in multiple terrariums.
INSTALLING THE MONSOON IN AN EXO TERRA TERRARIUM
Follow this installation procedure to install the Exo Terra® Monsoon system on any size of Exo Terra® Natural Terrarium. The system comes with 1 easy-to-install nozzle, which should be mounted on either glass side panel of the terrarium as close as possible to the opening front doors.
1. Unlock the top screen cover and lift it off the terrarium.
2. Slide the inlet holes (located on the back of the screen top on either side) to the open position, so the tubing will fit through.
3. Feed the tubing through the first inlet hole on each side on the back of the terrarium. (fig. A)
4. Mount the nozzle in position on the glass portion of the terrarium’s side panels with the suction cup. Make sure that the glass area is clean and free of any dirt or deposits before mounting the nozzles. For the best results, mount the nozzle as close as possible to the front opening windows and the top screen. (fig. B)
5. Direct the nozzle position inside the terrarium so that the spray stream will avoid spraying on the terrarium’s front and side panels when in operation.
6. Use the additional suction cup to neatly guide the tubing along the side panels to the inlets at the back of the terrarium.
7. Replace the top screen cover and lock it back into position.
8. Close the remaining inlets by sliding the slider against the tubing or wires to prevent escape from feeding insects and smaller animals. (fig. C)
9. Remove any slack in the tubing inside the terrarium. Make sure there are no kinks in the tubing which would impede water flow to the nozzles. Verify that the suction cups are properly attached.
10. Place the Monsoon unit on a solid, level surface.
11. Connect the tubing to the top of the unit by pressing the tubing firmly into the connector on top of the control unit. (fig.F)
12. Make sure that the filter is properly connected to the spigot on the underside of the control unit and placed inside the reservoir.
13. Ensure that the top of the Monsoon unit fits tightly on top of the reservoir.
16. Make sure the unit is in its final operating location, on a solid, level surface.
